An American billionaire could become Roma`s new investor.
According to TuttoSport, Roma`s current owner Dan Friedkin may put the club up for sale due to the club`s EUR219 million debts. Among the possible buyers is 75-year-old Tom Barrack, owner of the investment company Colony Capital.
Friedkin, who has invested about 817 million euros in the club, is considering not only a sale, but also finding a new investor.
In 2006, Barrak`s company Colony Capital, together with Butler Capital Partners and Morgan Stanley, acquired PSG. After 2 years, Colony Capital bought out the shares of its partners and began to own the majority of the shares of the Parisians. In 2012, Barrak sold the club predictions by new registration for predictions to the Qatar Investment Authority.
Barrack is the owner of the Fukuoka Dome, a 50, 000-seat stadium in Japan, and also owns property along much of Italy`s Costa Smeralda.
Barrack is a supporter of former US President Donald Trump. He was a senior adviser to Trump`s presidential campaign. He was also charged in July 2021 with being a United Arab Emirates agent obstructing the FBI.
