Carla Suárez Navarro with illustrious turn against Venus Williams

Carla Suarez Navarro played an incredible match and managed to beat the former world number one Venus Williams in Miami. Although she lost the first set to zero the 12th in the scheme Span won with 0:6, 6:1, 7:5 and for the first time in her career has reached the semi-finals of the tournament in category "Prime binding".

In the first part the American was merciless. She made 14 winners and closed the set in 27 minutes. Suarez Navarro did not give up and find the right rhythm. "It was a crazy match; Venus was amazing at the beginning. I was nervous on the start of the match, but in the tennis, even you lost the first set, you are still in the game. So I am happy that I managed to get back in the game and won it "said Carla.

Her next opponent is the German Andrea Petkovic. If she can win her and reach the finals, Suarez Navarro will debut in the Top 10 in the world rankings.

So far, both tennis players have exchanged two victories each other. Their last match was in Sofia on the 28th of October 2014. Then the Spaniard beat the future champion Petkovic with 6:0, 6:4 in a match of the groups. Both had to play the final in Antwerp in February this year, but Carla abandoned because of injury and the German took the title.

Tonight are the quarterfinals in the top of the scheme. The matches are Serena Williams - Sabine Lisicki and Simona Halep - Sloane Stephens.
